It is worth noting that Satya doesn’t
have any former CEO experience, unlike the other candidates that were
hopeful of becoming Microsoft CEOs. Yet, the departments he has headed
have produced billions in revenue. His mentor is Bill Gates, the founder
of the company. After a long time, Bill Gates may take to working full
days at Microsoft helping Satya reshape Microsoft.
Nadella himself is focused on reviving
the company by bringing innovation to market. He is looking to up the
standards of software and hardware as well as work on the cloud-centric
services that Microsoft currently offers.
“The opportunity ahead for Microsoft is vast, but to seize it, we must focus clearly, move faster and continue to transform. A big part of my job is to accelerate our ability to bring innovative products to our customers more quickly.”
However these are tough times for
Microsoft. Sure, the services are still in demand but Microsoft’s major
product, Windows is struggling to hold the market share. Satya has the
experience, the determination and perhaps the passion but it remains to
be seen if he has what it takes to take the company forward.
